HCG Diet Cooking Tips

Preparing meals for your HCG diet is not as daunting as it might seem at first glance. Look at it this way, your portions will be small so you don’t have to prepare a lot. All jokes aside, there are some general tips and rules that are best to follow when trying to maximize your weight loss when on the liquid HCG diet.



Approved Foods and Preparation Ideas:



Phase II (Day 3-40) is really the core of the HCG diet. How closely you stick to the protocol, will determine how successful you will be. Preparing and eating foods that are within 500 calories is crucial. Here are the approved foods and preparation Ideas:



Approved Proteins:



(3.5 oz. Or 100 g Pre-Cooked)



Beef

Extra Lean Ground Beef, Steak, Roast, Buffalo or Veal



Poultry

Chicken Breast (Skinless and Boneless)



Seafood

Wild Chilean Sea Bass, Wild Flounder, Wild Sole, White Halibut, Lobster, Crab, Shrimp, Tuna (packed in water)



Approved Fruits:



1 Apple, 1 Orange, ½ Grapefruit, 7-10 Small Strawberries, ½ Fresh Peach, 2 Plums, ½ Cup Cherries





Spices/Sauces:





(Make sure they do not have added calories or sugars in the packaged spices)



Lemon, Italian Seasoning, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Cinnamon, Stevia (sugar substitute-all flavors), Pepper, Garlic, Ginger root, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Crushed tomatoes, Pumpkin Allspice, Chili Powder, Cilantro, Poultry Seasoning, Celery Salt



Crackers:



(All around 20 Calories)



1 Kavli Crisp bread, 1 Melba Toast, 1 Grissini Breadstick, 4 Soda Crackers, 4 Stone Ground Wheat Thins, 1 Ryvita Crisp bread



Approved Vegetables:

Asparagus, Lettuce, Spinach or Chard, Cabbage, Tomato, Cucumber, Celery, Red Radishes, White, Yellow, or Red Onions, Broccoli, Green or Red Pepper, Green Beans (Fresh), Cauliflower, Zucchini, Eggplant, Fennel



Soup Base:



Chicken/Beef Bouillon, your favorite spice combination, and your allotted vegetables and meats for the meal.



Cloves, Bouillon Cubes (Beef or Chicken), Ground Cumin, Apple Cider Vinegar, Dry Mustard, Wasabi, Chinese 5 Spice, Parsley, hallots, Chives



*Any Spice that doesn’t have added calories or sugar.



Meat Marinade:



Your choice of spice blend, vinegar, and lemon juice.



Tomato Sauce:



Crushed tomato, garlic cloves, and any of your favorite Italian spices.



Desserts:



Add cinnamon, lemon juice and your favorite Stevia sweetener/flavoring to your fruit allotted for the day. It can be even tastier warmed up!



Breading for Vegetables or Meat:



Use your cracker allotment for the day and crush them up with your favorite spices. This can add texture and flavor to your foods.



Asian Style:



(Chicken, Steak, or Shrimp taste good prepared in these flavorings).



Chinese 5 spice, garlic, onion, and Wasabi can all add an Asian flair to your food.



Mexican Style:



Onion, chili powder, lemon juice, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika can all add a Mexican style to your cooking.
